The Indiana Wrangler Foundation, Inc. is the charitable arm of the Indiana Chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. The foundation receives, manages, and disburses funds that benefit the fraternity chapter and its members. The foundation is classified by the IRS under section 501(c)(3) so may receive contributions that are tax deductible by the donor; tax deducted contributions must be used for educational purposes. Chapter leaders recognized the advantages of having its own charitable arm in 1978, a status held by few chapters of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity or other fraternity chapters on the Indiana University campus. These forward focused founders adopted the name Wrangler to honor the name of the group that became the Indiana Chapter of Delta Upsilon in 1915. Funds benefiting the chapter and its members may also be managed by other organization including the Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation and the Indiana University Foundation; the Wrangler Foundation works closely with these other organizations. Over the years, the foundation has provided funds in recognition and reward to a host of chapter members and paid for many educational experiences and academic support facilities for members. Non-tax deducted contributions have played a crucial role in enhancing the chapter house for the benefit of the members.
